Jerry was a good friend, a great artist with his tags, and a wonderful man 
quick with a good word and always eager to help.  This is a big loss to the 
engine community and he will be greatly missed.

Folks,

It is with a sad heart that I pass along the news of
Jerry Evans' death. He died last night after a bout with cancer.

He was a good friend and a frequent contributor to the lists.
Jerry was also well known in the old engine community for the
beautiful brass engine plates that he designed and built.

He will be missed by many.
