Hi Rob,
You are so right. I think mine came from unclipping the wall
speakers of my HiFi from the wall and standing them on the carpet, facing
each other, about 2' apart. My head went between them and Niel Diamond,
Roger Whittaker and others were played "VERY LOUD". Various adult beverages
completed the experience.
There WILL be many people suffering from tinnitus in the future
with the high powered music players that are fitted to motor cars today. I
think some of these actually produce more power than the cars engine and
would propel the car by vibration alone. It's amazing how many times I have
heard a car in traffic on the highway and thought that it was the car next
to me only to discover that it was 5 or 6 cars behind me!! (and that's with
the windows closed). Of course, most of it is "Boom Boom" non-music which
makes matters worse.
Now, back to the "Topic" which is "Off Topic" :-)
Wow, it's good too see that all you guys are still out there. I
originally started this "Off Topic" thread with the buzz on my telephone.
The lists were so quiet that I was beginning to think that most of you
"Yanks" had "gone to that big engine room in the sky" in that cold winter
you had just experienced or worse, "unsubscribed" (horrors)!!
Good to see you are still all there even if it took an "off Topic"
post to get you back :-)
Keep well,
Keep the revs up (or down)
