We had a David Bradley just like that one. It was used (by me) on the farm 
to clear the hedge rows. Had it and used it for years - 1958 to 1996.  Sold 
it for $25. (before eBay).

Yes, I was careful and it did have a somewhat tiny guard for the saw blade 
and it would convert to a mower with a different blade and a full guard over 
the top.
