Hi Peter

I have just arrived home after a week away, too many emails to read.

I use and teach converting Vinyl records and Cassette tapes to CD/DVD using 
RIP Vinyl and Audacity.
Audacity is a free download from Sound Forge 
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Stick with version 1.2.6 it works fine.
RIP Vinyl cost a few bucks from the UK, but there are many other programs as 
well.
