[SEL] Gib Key Removal

Could a fellow simply use another gib key to extract a stuck one??? 
Might have to angle the top a little with a ginder to keep it from 
drifting out under the tab of the stuck key. Or is it not hard enough? 
Do the gib key removal tools have some HT or case hardening on them?
