[SEL] OT........bush fires in Australia

I know this is off topic.  Please don't become angry.
  Over the past few days, there has been some discussion of forest fires; this having stemmed from the misfortunes of Australia.
  I am interested if any of you could relate some information,  experience, or awareness of log jams.  This interests me.  If  nobody can do so, that is fine.  I just thought that maybe someone  of the Group has studied this phenom.
