Hi Mike,

If you have the Famous and the saw the proper distance apart for the
belt, you probably won't need a tensioner.

I ran a buzz saw with my 2½ HP Witte both sitting stationary on the
ground.

I started the engine with the belt tight and all worked out good.

You have the advantage of a clutch.

I used to cut slices of log and spray paint a "happy face" on the slices
using a stencil I cut from a milk jug.

Play safe - It draws a good crowd.
