Curt;
My Instruction book for the 1.5 HP Mc D suggests that for small cracks you
should fill the jacket high enough to cover the crack with salammoniac solution
( ammonium chloride) (one pound to the gallon) let stand 30 min, drain and
run engine 5 min. to warm jacket. Stop engine and put solution back into
jacket and repeat process 3-4 times.
Reference: Instructions for operating the McCORMIC-DEERING 1 1/2 H.P. ENGINE
MC-D 3062 7 1/2 M -10-29-31.
