Hi List,
When I purchased the Hercules Economy engine, I was given several old copies
of the "Gas Engine Magazine" and "Engineers & Engines". In the December -
January, 88 - 89 copy of "Engineers & Engines" on page 43, there is a very
interesting article by Michael Carwood of Wicklow, Ireland. He was in the
process of building a Ford Model T magneto demonstrator. He only thing that he
had built at that time was a frame and arbor to hold a Ford Model T flywheel
and magneto coils. This assembly was turned by an electric motor to generate
magneto voltage.
Mr. Carwood ultimate goal was to turn the Ford Model T flywheel with a buzz
coil ignition hit miss engine. Then, show that the engine could be started
with a battery and subsequently switched to Ford Model T magneto.
I wonder if Mr. Carwood ever finished this project. Perhaps, someone has
seen this unit or a similar setup.
