Hi Paul ,
        You could try the method that we use .Carefully weld on a piece of 
rod to the head of the key , the rod should have another piece welded on the 
end to look like a large gib key. Allow this to cool and a few swift bangs 
with a largish hammer and either the key will fly out or the weld will 
break, in this case just try again (this method has not let me down in the 
past).
