Hi Steve,

> You silver tongued devil, you! ;-) I just received this from the culprits:

heh-heh-heh. I have been referred to as a cunning linguist a time or two.
8-))

My feeling would be the same as Dolly's. If someone asked if they could
use my engine pics on their page with attribution, I'd say "Fine, have at
it." These folks do sell Caste Iron Currey Listers which are, in some
cases, an "entry engine" into the hobby. So, on the one hand, the
pics of your beautiful restorations may help them sell engines. On the
other hand, those same pics, and the others on your website, and the links
to other websites with engines may lead someone deep into our hobby when
they didn't know that it even existed.

I think these guys responded appropriately and quickly to the negative
feedback they received. They took down the pics, they contacted you and
apologized, and they've asked your permission to use your pics with
attribution. I'd call that a win all around. The only other thing they
could do would be to offer one of their Caste Iron Currey Listers as a
donation to the SEL Charity Auction. Maybe set it up as a running
exhibit at Portland. Couldn't hurt to mention it. They would
probably sell quite a few as a result. 8-)) And they probably don't even
know that Portland exists.

My vote is to contact them and give permission to use your pics with
attribution and a link to your website. I think they should also put in a
link to Peter Forbes' Lister diesel info.

See ya, Arnie
