Bill, this one looked like a football, it was touching at the points, rounding them off a little made it seat a lot better. It is still at a noticeable angle when closed, probably 15 or 20 degrees. The fuel tube is at the top of the throat and the butterfly closes toward it, when closed there was no airflow through the tube and the engine would lean out.Restricting the intake like a choke would keep it running.
