Welcome to the list and a subject and signature is a nice touch. A tractor
belted up is a stationary engine so you're ok here. E-bay is a good place to
look for a coil and I'm not sure what you are looking for. Coil, battery,
and ignitor sytem and you need the coil? No doubt someone with more
knowledge will come to your aid.

My first time on your website.  My husband and I just bought a Fairbanks
Morse engine today at Portland (just before the first big rain).  We're
primarily tractor people, so very ignorant about engines.  I hope we got a
good deal - it seemed cheap for what we've seen.  We've been looking to buy
one for a few years now.  The engine we purchased is in running condition
and fairly decent paint.  It's green, but I don't know the serial number
without going back out to the barn to look.  Where is a good place to buy a
coil?
