Pattern work, castings, etc. turned out to be one of the easier parts to 
the project.  Next came the machining.  A LOT of work.

Here are the cylinder flanges being machined on the rough cylinder 
casting.  This had to be done first to give a true plane to base all the 
other machining on the cylinder:
