Hey Curt,
Unless it's a very early engine, the numbers are only stamped on the tag.
I've also got a couple of F&J engines that are missing their tags.
Starbolt has the repo tags.

I have finally brought out one of my back burner restoration projects a
little Fuller & Johnson engine that I bought at an estate sale some 15yrs
ago. Believe it to be a model N, 1 1/2hp. This previous owner had completely
torn down the engine and was planning to restore and get running so
all the parts were still there. It also has both the ignitor asy as well
as the spark plug asy so
its possible to run it either way. I am chosing the ignitor method. When
sorting through all the parts yesterday discovered that the ID serial
plate was missing off the hopper, just the two brass screws were there. I can't
remember if I bought it that way or have missplaced the tag. My help
question is does anyone know where the serial number might be stamped if at all?
I have pretty much wire wheeled all the of the engine and checked the
most likely places like water hopper, flywheels, end of the crank shafts and
flat areas just forward the crank shaft. Also who might have repro tags?
thank you in advance,
Curt Andree
