Subject: [SEL] Off Topic - Car Troubles - Buick - HELP !

Hi List,
I hate to keep coming to the SEL for help with my vehicles but I have
another problem I can't solve.
The '95 Buick Park Avenue Ultra with 67,198 miles is giving us trouble.
>From a "cold" start, it starts, tries to run and dies. Then you have to
turn the key completey OFF, then restart it. Then it MIGHT run okay. While
I'm driving, It will run okay, but then stumble a little, like the ignition
is trying to disconnect, and lights flash on the dash. If it dies, you have
to drift to a stop, turn the key OFF and then restart it. You cannot turn
the key OFF until it is in PARK. (Which is very embarrasing in traffic.)
I had two mechanics say it was the fuel pump. A new fuel pump and $400
later, the problem persists.
This condition has seemed to come on gradually. After running and stopping
at the grocery store, or what ever, and restarting it, it would run very
rough. But once put in gear and moved, it would run okay. This has
progressivly gotten worse.
Another thing - - - I'm not sure if this has anythng to do with it but - - -
It seems like it dies after a 90º right turn. This has happened to me 3
times in one evening. I can't imagine any "dangling" wires or connectors.
The car is like a new car - immaculate and no rust. Temperature, Rain or
Sun doesn't seem to affect the problem.
When it happenes, there is a lot of instrument light flashing and - for some
reason - the Ext. Temp. screen keeps blinking for about a minute after it
restarts.
It does NOT have an on-board diagnostic. I don't have a reader and the
mechanic that replaced the fuel pump just says everything reads fine and he
can't get it to continue what it's doing. He would have to be reading it
when it dies.
I'm tending to think it's a sensor or module of some sort breaking
electrical connection or smelling something or ???
HELP !!!
