Very sorry to hear of the passing of your father. The folks out of that  
generation were some tough ones and especially those that went thru the  war.  
It is great that you were able to spend that quality time  with him and 
reminisce about the past times.  Not only is it a sad time  when the last of 
our parents pass, but their passing now makes us the  "old folks"!
