I think they are both good vehicles and depends on whether you are a Chevy  
or Ford person.  I lean to the Chevy and have a 2007, extended cab, 1500  
series, Z71, with lots of options. Bought it second hand when 2 years old  
and the young woman took it back to dealer with 20,000 miles asking  the 
dealer to purchase it back.  Said her husband did not like to work and  it was 
either work or get rid of the truck.  Truck went and I understand  the husband 
went a short time later too.  It pulls the trailer great and a  very nice 
riding vehicle.  Computer says I average 16 mpg.  But it  also says I get 95 
mpg going down hills.  I just love that!
