If you look through the archives, you find it added to various posts
from time to time. The way most spam filters work is they assign a
total "spam score" to an email based on hundreds of different
criteria; each of which add "spam points". Some criteria are as simple
as: Did the email use the work "Free" too many times. Others are
complicated heuristic algorithms. Some are look ups in lists of ISPs
and sender addresses that have a history of SPAM. After the scan the
total score is compared to a threshold. Above the threshold, the mail
is rejected. If an email is just slightly below the score, then they
might get the warning tag in the subject like you got. If you will
notice, this latest email you sent did not have the "Spam" tag.
The short answer is: No, there is not anything I can really do about it
short of changing Spam filtering services - but I am sure I would just
jump from the frying pan to the fire if I did. They all operate very
similarly. As it should not happen very often and because most folks
know the tag is a warning only and usually the result of inconsequential
use of certain words, or a temporary misconfiguration of your ISPs
server; most folks know that does not represent on on-going threat from
your PC or ISP or email account.
Hope this helps,
Spencer
