     Hi Arnie,
Getting emails from Oldengine but it will not allow me to post. Yes,
going from the correct email :-)
Was just trying to post an update on the Hall 5 for those who had
     supported the venture:-
"A number of people on the lists have supported this project over
     the
     last couple of years.
Has taken some time but the building is now weatherproof and we have
finally taken the sheets off the engines.
There is a news item on the museum website at
     [1]http://www.internalfire.com/news.php?ssid=1464
All the large engines have now run although the Ruston 6VE and Allen
     S47
have plenty of pipework left to do. Everything should be complete by
     the
End of Season Crankup in October.
Thanks again to everybody who has supported the build, just over
     ?28k
     was raised! 100% donations.
If you (think) it worth posting on ATIS as well then it would be
     appreciated.
Have not posted about progress much due to flack from Wieser etc,
     got
     enough to deal with!
     Cheers
     Paul

   Hi Paul,
I looked at the website and Hall 5 is looking good. That first
startup of the Allen was awesome -(We've never met so I need to ask -
was that you on the ladder ??).
I feel privileged and honoured that, in a very small way, I was
able to add to those donations. When I auctioned those few plates
almost everyone mentioned that they had already donated but "went for
it again - anyway". Don't we have fantastic people in this hobby ??
Don't be concerned with the odd person who for some reason is
not happy about you and what you do - "**it" happens in whatever "walk
of life" you are in irrespective of the fact that your intentions are
completely honourable. The other 99.99% of collectors make up for that
   odd one.
In my little "engine plates" business I've been very lucky to
have mostly "happy customers" but there have been 3 exceptions !
The one was an English collector who wanted a special plate for
a Stuart pump (US$ 20,00's worth) but expected me to answer almost
daily e-mails from him (immediately) about the EXACT price it was going
to cost in spite of the fact that I pointed him to my webpage which has
the prices published as well as a link to a currency converter to get
to GBP - on the page I also mention that currencies fluctuate daily and
I invoice according to the going rate on the day that I post the
plates. He said that the "currency converter did not work for him"
(?????). Eventually I wrote back to him that I did not have the time to
answer his daily e-mails for a paltry US$ 20.00. His reply was that my
attitude stank and that I should cancel his order and he would get the
plate made by someone else who did not have "my bad attitude". I
replied that it would be a pleasure and that I'd work on correcting "my
   attitude" :-)
The other 2 were motor car collectors - I do not think that I
want to do any more work for car collectors !!
In the last 6 or 7 years that I have been making these plates
(as a hobby - not a business ) I have met many really good people and
their patience has been fantastic (I DO NOT offer quick service).
SO, do not be intimidated by the odd person who is hard to
   please.
Keep the revs up (or down)
