I thought that too.
My 12 inch swing 'angular looking' Chinese lathe is a great tool but there
IS a classy look about a lot of tools.
The older Nuttal 15 inch swing is also a wonderful tool but, the Chink is a
newer unit and IS accurate to within a thou.
I can do a 5 inch bore with less than a thou variation. Works for me.
As an aside, years back, I worked out that if I NEEDED a machine, I hit the
wallet/ bank account, and bought it. Used it and finally, when done, sold it.
ALWAYS a lot better than stuffing around with worn out second + hand
discards.
Making 'stuff' is hard enough without using less than good machinery.
Also, on the last USA trip, I got a digital vernier from Harbor Freight that
has FRACTIONS! along with Metric and imperial. I got it just to show the
friends here! Awesome!!
