[SEL] Aluminum (Aluminium) oxide removal

Hi all

I have a British Seagull outboard motor I am restoring. What is the best home remedy for neutralizing the heavy white oxide build up on the Aluminum parts please.
Without  buying all the fancy stuff that you guys in the US have that we can't buy here, a home remedy like Vinegar etc.
