[SEL] Serial number location

Hi All,
I have been looking for the serial number on my Stover 2hp model "Y".  Have completely polished the more common areas with a wire wheel such as on the water hopper front face, back, both sides and top around the opening and bottom. Also both flywheel tops and rims and the base section, also the crankshaft,yokes, ends,keyways and still no numbers. I did find the ignition mark stamping.  Hopefully someone has similiar engine and can help?
