The only way to do it and the easy way  put a handful of dry wall screws in the tank wrap the tank in a old blanket tie the blanket or duck tape it down  Then take it to your local paint store and put in on the 5 gallon shaker it will make it just like new inside. You might have to move the tank upside down to get all the tank clean  it really works good  best of all you don't have any sand that will gum up your carb for years. I have done a lot of tanks this way ,Cushman's,lawn mowers,hit and miss engines  then go get some sealer and seal the inside because your sure to open up a rust spot so fix it right..
