Holy Moly, Another Findlay show has come and gone already!! We did it
safely and with only two rain events that came at the right time of
day in both
cases and did a great job of killing the dust. It was muggy through
most of it but there seemed to be a good breeze all the time. Arnie,
How many fish did
you catch in lake Rotigel ?
Once again the exhibitors came together to fill an empty
fairgrounds and put on one of the biggest shows of its type in Ohio.
We had it all!! Doug
Tallman got the Vintage Garden Tractor Collectors of America
motivated into action and got the largest number of Vintage machines
together I know of
anywhere. I have heard some figures but I have not heard directly
from him yet.
The Briggs collectors went out of their way to bring in a line up
of Briggs to boggle the mind. The official Briggs count is 386 This
included the Briggs
engines also in equipment on display. We probably missed one or two
here or there but its believed this is a pretty close number. Sam
even brought the
infamous S Stationary. I am not sure if there was any Briggs engines
missing. If there was a letter Briggs missing I would not know what it was.
Talk about Corn, we roasted 45 dozen ears! And cut up 25 musk
melons Friday evening. ONCE again my hats off to you the
exhibitor!! The efforts of
all to bring this display of equipment together and do it SAFELY is
just amazing! I know that many times I was asked to pass on Thank You to the
volunteers that organize the show and we appreciate that. But without
you the Exhibitor we would only have an empty grounds. You fill it,
You and your
machines are the reason for the show and the heart of it. Thank You!!!
We would like to hear your suggestions as to how we could make the
show and your experience better for next year. There is one important
event that
many forget about and that is the Membership banquet that we have
every November held usually about the second weekend. If you want an
invitation to
it and you do not get it before October 1 let us know. This meeting
is important. At that banquet we the members can nominate and vote
for to elect the
Trustees that will represent us the members. The best way to
influence the organization is to vote in the people that have your
views and ideas. These
Trustees then elect your Officers, Pres, V-Pres, Secretary, and
Treasurer. Your vote counts, Come to the Banquet.
See you all at Portland. Mark
