G'day all,
We are home all safe and well after a fantastic trip to the USA.
Carmel and I would like to thank everyone who welcomed us during our
time abroad. We had such a great time; and like many before us, we
would like to go back and do it again. Driving on the right side of
the road was fun, ( I had to really concentrate when we got home to
not stuff up here) I can get used to sitting on 75 mile an hour
pretty easy too. We got to see plenty of the country, Plenty of
engines and plenty of cars. Baraboo was a very nice setting for an
engine rally, Portland just has to be experienced. Thanks to the
folks who welcomed us into their homes. Thanks to the folks who gave
advice along the way.
Our rip home was pleasant in that we got to travel on a new A380 air
bus. We had no idea until we were actually boarding the plane. We
arrived in Melbourne around 8am and picked up our car to travel the
5.5 hours back home. We are still pretty buggered from the trip and
jet lag but will not let this stop us planing another trip.
I have been over to the shed and had a real Aussie beer already :-)
and gave my engines a bit of a cuddle. Yet to start anything up how
ever. (Dad ran one of my Hornby's at our local club event while we
were away and snagged a second place ribon from the show society)
The trip of a life time would not have been as easy to do or
experience without the mateship of a really good group of folk known as the SEL
thanks again
Russell
