[SEL] Buzz coil repair

If the coil does not buzz, remove the points and clean the studs and the metal blade where it touches. They were bad about corrosion here, a hand sand blaster with baking soda, used outside, works well for clean up. If it buzzes and doesn't have much fire, try an automotive condensor attached externally across the points, the condensors in the coils usually failed to open. If it works the condensor can be mounted externally or you can take it apart and dig out the large old one and instal a new one. The new capacitors are available at electrical suppliers, I don't remember the values, but there are articles on line that show how to do it and what to use.
