I second the molasses method. I had some tools with varying degrees of rust and I used that method. I pulled them out, cleaned them and returned the ones that still had rust to soak longer. Some had machined surfaces that came out with a matte surface, but they mic'ed at specifications to the thousandth. Paul in California
