We didn't celebrate the 4th either.
We just went to Mom's house and I set set up my 18' X 40' canopy and thirty some folks showed up with food. We ate and had fun watching the kids.
Then they picked up their kids and stuff and I took my canopy down and came home.
It was like Work, Fun, Work.  8>))

This is the first time in my life that we didn't celebrate the 4th.
Things are pretty edgy here.

Most recent polls indicate the US is now extremely polarized,
with 33% "strongly approve", 35% "strongly disapprove",
leaving less than 1/3 in the middle.

Google "Tea Party".
