We had an interesting day at the Anson Engine Museum today, on the
occasion of the presentation by the Institute of mechanical Engineers
of an Engineering Heritage Award to JCB, for the Dieselmax engine that
was used in the recent world-speed record for diesel engined vehicles.
We got there early so had to time to top up our pictures for our own
websites, and also to go round and take notes for those previously
posted that have no or incorrect captions.
The presentation was a fairly informal affair, set in the diesel
exhibition hall, surrounded by old and new diesel engines of all
types, including the 1st diesel built in the UK and the 3rd diesel in
the world.
I have some pictures of the ceremony and will get them up on the
websites over the weekend, we've just arrived back home at 10pm having
left this morning early to go to Crewe and Bury first.
