[SEL] Wanted: Pair of old Panel Meters for aSearchlightGenerator

I think the problem with replacing the meters on the searchlight generator is that the meters on the generator are actually 4-1/4" in diameter at the face flange.

That 4-1/4" dimension is going to be the hard one to match.

If Limey Pete can let us know the brand of the meters, maybe a better search can be mounted.

If the old meters still look good (face printing intact), I think there are outfits that restore D'arvsonval meters.  In fact, I've repaired a couple of meters that had bad coils by swapping the guts from an electrically identical meter, even removing the pointer from the old meter and cementing it on the new movement.  Some tweaking of the face plate mounting holes and re-balancing had to be done to keep the meter zero constant regardless of positioning but they worked fine.
