[SEL] Didn't want to sell

That's what's happening to a lot of people here in the
Bloomington/Normal area. The Twin Cities are growing so fast that
farmhouses are now in the middle of neighborhoods. I lived in the
same house in Normal from birth until I moved out at 19. Used to be
right on the edge of town. I'm now 25 and it's about 3 MILES to the
city limits from that house. It's insane how fast this city is
growing. But with all the big businesses that are based here like
State Farm, Country Companies, Mitsubishi, Beer Nuts, etc. it's
understandable why it's growing so much. Not to mention Illinois
State University and Illinois Wesleyan University are also here.

My wife and I now live in a quiet older subdivision here in
Bloomington and it's a love hate relationship with me and the
city. On one hand I'd rather own a piece of land out in the middle
of nowhere with a big shop where I can do what I want, but on the
other hand it's nice only having to drive a mere 3 miles to work from
here. One of these days I'll find my dream home on 10+ acres out in
the country, but for now my projects will have to remain confined to
the 2 car attached garage...
