But....

To run through either of the List's traffic and Smokstak is only
seconds in reality, for you know in advance what you are going to look
at and what you are not, so in time terms they all take about the
same.

We use Gmail for all of the Lists, and subject-line scanning on most
days will either see a couple of items read or of all of them deleted.

Same with Smokstak and the Usenet newsgroups, you just develop a good
sense of what is 'likely' to be of interest and what you can safely
discard.

I keep deleted List traffic for a few days, just in case... Gmail
deletes stuff in the deleted folder after 30 days. Most regular emails
we keep forever, saved by year.
