[SEL] Stover KA wth ignitor?

I've got a Stover KA 11/2 hp that i believe is a 1921 model. When i got the engine, there was a spark plug plate in the original what i believe to have been ignitor hole. Every example of this engine i've seen has an EK mag, and a rating of 2hp.  Now, if mine originally came with an EK, why go through the trouble of making a spark plug plate?
The original Trip on the pushrod is also missing.   Anyone else out there seen a 11/2 HP KA with an ignitor?
