Wonder if that Miller guy who came up with the variable valve timing 
Atkinson was associated with the Miller-Offenhauser racing engines?

So the Prius's Atkinson engine is a modified version of the Echo 
engine. My daughter drives an Echo and my wife has a Yaris with the 
Otto version. Good little engine. (And great little cars!)
