And if your really worried about the solder sticking hit Eastwoods site 
(or other body shop supply sites) and look for "Tinning Butter)It is 
flux with a fine powdered solder in it. You just heat the spot, brush it 
with the TB and you have an instant tinned surface. Then just apply your 
normal solder. It also works great on gas tanks and many other surfaces 
as well. If you want a small amount Radio Shack sells it as a soldering 
iron tip cleaner and tinning agent.
