[SEL] Spam> Spam/Phish> Parts washer

GE just recalled our old dish washer, and I opted to replace it  instead of 
exchanging the defective parts. I have been wondering if it is  practical 
disconnect the drain valve add a nylon stocking filter and try to use  it as a 
parts cleaner. Has anybody tried this, or will the grit and  grime destroy the 
plastic innards.
