I had some problems with the head bolts on my wolseley moter some also broke
as well the metal seemed very soft wondered is this metal fatigue or maybe
hydrogen embrittlement i spoke to another guy regarding stud bolts on a ford
prefect 1951 4 cyl flat head cast engine it had the same problem with the
studs snapping as they get soft and the head couldnt be torque down to the
correct settings as studs would snap only option was to replace the head
bolts for new ones problem then solved. brent nz
