[SEL] Gasket material for oilers?

Lee Pedersen carries corprene gasket material 3/32 thick that I found much
better than cork. He also has pre-cut gaskets and glass for all oilers plus
many other engine goodies. When I got my first Alamo a while back I dropped
my Lunk Sentinel #3 and broke the glass. I thought my new interest was over.
I looked everywhere for ways to cut a new glass, nothing seemed possible. I
visited my local engine club and the world opened up. I now have several
working oilers and make my own gaskets with homemade 'biscuit cutter' made
from a hole saw set from Harbor Freight ($4 on sale). Two sets & a few
minutes of grinding off the teeth and I can cut sizes #0-6. Various pipes
filed the same way will cut the scraps into lower gaskets. I don't like
waste.

Subject: [SEL] Gasket material for oilers?

Hey Gang what is the best gasket material to use for the oiler glasses?

A friend of mine suggested 1/8" neoprene but I am afraid I will not be able
to find this in my small town, what are some other suggestions?

Paul
