John,
That's right, lots of fresh water to run into the sea when the ice caps melt, 
that is, the ones resting on land.  Just think, the melting fresh water will 
dilute the mineral content of the sea water making it less dense so ships will 
either have to carry lighter loads or set deeper into the water.  If it 
weren't for the rise in sea level, some of these ships might run aground so it 
works out pretty well, don't you think?

I like the idea of rising sea level. Shorter drive to the beach.
