But hark! What's that? Around the back,
That smokey puttering hymn!
The scrapman cometh - and what's he brought?
He's fetched back Little Jim!

The scrapman wants his money back.
(Cough) "Jim runs OK. I do not mind a joke -
But even scrapmen have their pride." He's all choked up inside -
His lungs are filled with smoke.

"But - you said Jim runs?"  She waits his slow reply -
He answered back twixt resp'ratory attacks,
"To make it go, I thought you'd know,
(Cough) PULL OUT DAVE'S BLOODY AXE!"
