[SEL] How Hot Does a Muffler Get

Paul:

If it only has to be flat black, just go to your local hardware store and get a small can of brush-on barbeque paint and apply it according to the instructions.  You could probably remove some of the pits by sanding the surface of the paint after it has dried and cured from heat.  Then you could add another coat and repeat the process 'til it's better than new looking.

Anyhoo, that's what I do.
