It won't replace the email lists - that technology is simply too 
convenient for many people when compared to a bulletin board.   But 
nothing beats the immediacy of a bulletin board, plus you can have 
pictures, attachments, etc that are safe for everyone and don't create a 
throughput and storage nightmare for me.  Plus, it will allow me to 
upgrade the classifieds to a system that will allow pictures.

The bulletin board allows you to "subscribe" to individual forums and 
receive email form that particular forum.   Yo won't have to go on line 
to post to the forum, but you can use email to read and not miss anything.
