[SEL] valve spanner wrenches

Hi Ron,
I was thinking of one of the flathead inline engines where
the tappets were below and under the manifolds. I forgot to
add that there also needed to
be a mirror hung on someplace and a light bulb to burn your
hand on.

Hi Jim,
Not only did it take a little practice to keep everything in
hand and under
control, you did all this with the engine running. My 1937
Chevrolet certainly
did run better after I adjusted the valves. I only wish I
had had a timing
light and didn't have to adjust timing by ear.

I agree witrh brent, in the US they would have been called
tappet wrenches. Long slender open end wreches. It took
three of these to make the addjustment, one for the jam nuts
and one fro the tappet it's self. Holding all three
wrenches along with a feeler gauge took a lot of patience
and dexterity.
