Paul,,
back in the 1980's i picked up, restored and showed 3 or 4 engines,, showed
them for about 4 years,,, then got busy with other things, and seemed to
have less time for the engines, however, i didnt sell them, just pushed them
to the back of one of the barns,,,,, my son was born in 1986, and when he
was about 14, i came in one day and he had dragged one of them up to the
shop,,,,,,,,,he got it cleaned up a little, and after a day or 2 had it
running again,,,,,,,,well, that got me interested again, mainly because it
was something we could do together,,,,,,over the following years, we';ve
added quiet a number to that original 3 or 4,,, hes now 21 and has a much
nicer collection than i do,,,, we've been to 3 shows just this month of
april and his interest in them is still growing,,,,,
so, keep those engines,,, give those boys a little longer, take them to some
more shows, and if they develop an interest they will have a good starting
place for a nice collection,,,,,,
theres nothing to loose, as the iron just increases in value each year, and
so much to gain if the boys get interested and it turns into a nice family
hobby,,,,,,,,,
just my thoughts,,
