Hi All,
It's only a few times in a man's life that he is able to help a
good friend turn away from the DARK SIDE and enter upon a path that leads
to a fuller life and happiness. Last Saturday (April 14, 2007) was one of
those days for me!
My good friend has been a FATG for years. He has even written
books on the subject of antique tractors. He and I have known each other
for many years, and I could always tell that there was something missing in
his life. A year or so ago, my friend came to that conclusion himself.
After much soul searching he reached out for help and it was my good
fortune to be there in his time of need!
Several times in the past year my friend has tried to turn away
from the DARK SIDE, but each time something went wrong and he was unable to
turn his life around. However, several months ago he made another attempt
to begin his journey away from evil--and this time he has succeeded!
Saturday I ventured to Waynesburg, PA to meet Spencer Yost and
help him take his 25 HP Ball Oil Field Engine off the oil well where it had
spent it's entire working life. At 7:00 AM I met Spencer and Brice Adams
and Steve Sewell for breakfast and by 8:00 we were on our way to the Ball
engine site some 20 miles away. Spencer had hired a fellow with an
excavator to assist with the job. (What a God-send that was!)
Steve had said at breakfast that we had better have the engine on
his trailer and chained down by noon--"Or we will be getting wet!" By 11:30
it was on the trailer and chained down! It started to rain at 11:45. (Steve
is usually not that far off!)
All in all Steve, Brice and I had a great time helping Spencer
turn toward the LIGHT! He is now the proud owner of a 25 HP Ball Oil Field
engine and well on his way to a fuller and happier life! (Just look at the
smile on his face in the pictures!)
         Dave
