Flooring hammer. But your missing the non marking head that was on the 
tapered stub. Used to install wood flooring. Used in two ways. With a 
setting tool you used it like a heavy mallet to seat the board then hit 
the plunger that drives the edge nails in place. OR used without the 
setter the non marking side tightens the board in place then you flipped 
it and drove the face nails.
