Ok Guys, I have been responding to each message individually and "Off List"
in hopes of not offending any of our more sensitive members but so many of
you have been eager to help me that I am going to send the message I have
been sending to individuals to the group.

As you guys know my truck was destroyed in a recent accident. I am now truck
shopping for a good used truck. I have found a 3/4 Ton HD 2001 Chevrolet
with the big engine in it, it is loaded, has a crew cab, has 87,000 miles on
it, towing package, bedliner, etc. The man was asking $14,000 for it and has
come down to $13,300. I ask him if he was the original owner and he said no.
He told me he bought it from the man who had originally bought it and that
this man was a pipeliner and used the truck to pull a mobile home from job
to job. He put 20,000 miles on it and then this guy that has it now bought
it. He has put 67,000 miles on it and he started out pulling a large camper
trailer with it and then just used it for general transportation and pulling
a 12' trailer with various things on it.

My question is that this truck has spent most if it's life pulling loads, do
you think that all of this pulling might have generated excessive wear in
the drive train?

According to Kelly Blue Book the truck is worth about $11,900 if one
consumer buys it from another consumer, about a $1000.00 less if traded in.

I have never owed a 3/4 ton truck and just don't know if I should try and
buy this truck or not since it has spent it's life pulling, let me know what
you think.

Paul
