For the first time in months I have managed to do something hobby-related
:-)  The alternator in the engine photos was made in 1954, so it is two
years older than I am.  It's a Brush 6KW machine generating 230V at 50Hz.
The Lister CS 12/2 was made in 1951.  It is a vertical twin with opposed 
crank throws, generating 12 HP at 650rpm.  I can generate at 0.0666 GBP a 
kilowatt-hour (13 cents US) on biodiesel, making it cheaper than the 
utility company, who are charging me about 20 cents.
