[SEL] Anyone Ever Used Phosphoric Acid to DeRust

I've tried de-rusting things that have been through a fire. Some of the
scale seems impervious to anything I threw at it, including electrolysis,
acid, and abrasive blasting.
The recommendation I've seen for dilution is one part molasses to 3 or 4
parts water.

So many projects. So little time.

I'm trying to clean up some items that went through a fire and sat
outside for a year or so. I haven't had much luck using molasses to
remove rust. I must have had the wrong mixture. What percentages of
molasses and water do you use?
